Ben Rice: Yankees' Rookie Makes History with Rare Feat

From Enemy Territory to Bronx Bomber

As a young fan growing up in the rival territory of Boston, Ben Rice dreamed of reaching the hallowed halls of Yankee Stadium.

His dream became a reality when he was drafted by the Yankees in 2020. In his rookie season, Rice has already etched his name in the history books.

A Hitting Machine

Rice has emerged as one of the most promising hitters in the Yankees lineup. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the first rookie among the 22 Yankees who have hit a home run in his first four games.

Rice's strong plate discipline has been a hallmark of his career. He has a keen eye at the plate and rarely chases pitches outside the strike zone.

A Rising Star

Rated as the Yankees' No. 12 prospect by MLB Pipeline, Rice was promoted from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in June.

He continued to impress at the higher level, batting .305 with six home runs and 22 RBIs. Rice was eventually called up to the majors in September and has been a key contributor for the Yankees ever since.
